PAST EXHIBITIONS

The museum’s first exhibition on the art of photography in picture books curated by children’s book historian Leonard Marcus and features more than 90 photographic works and a selection of more than 20 rare children’s books dating from the 1890s onward.
The exhibition included prints from the books Handtalk Birthday, Pablo Remembers: The Fiesta of the Day of the Dead, and blog post George Ancona: A Door to the World.

An introduction to the early artists of Gate Hill Co-op. The exhibit, curated by RoCA Executive Director Daly Flanagan, featured music by John Cage, David Tudor, Patsy and LaNoue Davenport, Sheila Schomburn and Chris Williams. And featured work by photographer George Ancona; artists Sari Dienes, Juliette Gordon, William Hochhausen, Paul Hultberg, Sam Weinrib, David Weinrib and Johanna Vanderbeek; composer Rip Hayman; ceramist Karen Karnes; and filmmakers DeeDee Halleck and Stan VanderBeek.
The exhibition included the Snow Painting film by George Ancona and Sari Dienes, George’s portraits of Arngard von Bardeleden and Sari Dienes, and What Do You Do? and A Snake Lover’s Diary children’s books.
